A 501(c)3 Washington DC Developmentally Disabled Home
A home is more than a place we sleep. It’s the place where we live our lives. It’s security, stability, and above all else, it’s family.
But for those who need a little extra care, it’s so much more. Dignity. Respect. Freedom. Contribution. And, belonging.
A Natural Home (ANH) is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization providing homes to adults with developmental disabilities. Serving those wtih disabilities such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, and other developmental disabilities. A Natural Home was created by parents and siblings of adults with disabilities.
ANH was organized in the District of Columbia, and have a special interest in keeping residents in their natural home right here in our hometown.
A Natural Home (ANH) provides secure, protective and cheerful homes for adults with developmentally disabilities to grow both emotionally and mentally, in a stress-free and stable home environment with lasting and positive friendships. Our residents will thrive in a stress-free home with other adults with similar disabilities.
ANH creates an environment with establish routines that adults with disabilities can follow in order avoid upsetting and disrupting their lives. In additions to the daily routines, ANH will make sure the individuals regularly attend social gathering given by other organizations, birthday celebrations, events sponsored by the District of Columbia and other government agencies, annual summer vacations and various other recreational activities. Residents will have self-determination in activities, socialization and food preferences.
Our mission is to not just meet, but to anticipate our resident’s needs. We know that many of our residents will not be able to verbally tell us what they need so we will anticipate and respond to their nonverbal communication. ANH provides physical and emotional support, and understands that every individual desires to achieve their full potential. Our supervised homes providing opportunities to further develop daily activity skills and independence. We provide services for adults who need 24 hour care. The home will be staffed with caring and professional caregivers who anticipate the needs and uphold the respect in the daily lives of each individual.
